Micromax’s Yu Yureka smartphone has started receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop-based Cyanogen OS 12 update. The Cyanogen OS CM12 (Android 5.0.2 Lollipop) update will be rolled out in phases and could take up to three days. It was originally slated for release in the first week of April but was delayed citing further testing. If you haven’t received the OTA update yet, you can manually update your Yu Yureka.
Note: Applying this update won’t void the warranty or root the device in any manner as this is the official firmware updateby Yu.
STEPS TO MANUAL UPDATE YU YUREKA WITH OFFICIAL CM12S OTA UPDATE
- Download the Official CM12s ROM for Yu Yureka here.
- Copy the downloaded file into the root folder of your device.
- Boot your Android device in recovery mode.(To go into recovery: Turn off your device. Now, Press Volume Up + Volume Down + Power Button, three buttons at the same time)
- Now, select “Apply Update” option.
- Select “Choose from internal storage.”
- Select the file “cm-12.0-YNG1TAS0W0-tomato-signed.zip”. The ROM will be flashed, and you should see the Android Bot.
- Once the installation is over, go to main page and ‘wipe cache partition’and select Reboot system now
