Recently we have reported about Samsung applying for trademarks on A6, A8 and A9. Now two devices from Galaxy J series are listed on the TENAA website. Currently, J series has only ‘Galaxy J1’ in its line-up. According to the TENAA website listing; the Galaxy J5 and J7 are the upcoming devices to be added to the J-series line-up.
There are rumours about the Galaxy J3 also to be launched, but there are no details about the device anywhere. The Galaxy J5 (SM-J5008) and Galaxy J7 (SM-J7008) got the Bluetooth certification in April and today both the devices received the TENAA certification.
The Galaxy J5 will be a dual SIM device sporting a 5.0-inch HD (720×1280) TFT display. It will be powered by octa-core 1.2GHz processor and 1.5GB of RAM. We expect the processor to be the 64-bit Snapdragon 410 from Qualcomm, even though it is a quad-core processor.
Galaxy J7 doesn’t support dual SIM like the Galaxy J5. It sports a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280) display and will be powered by octa-core 1.4GHz processor; we expect it to be a 64-bit Marvel PXA1936 processor. The Galaxy J7also comes with 1.5GB of RAM.
Both the devices have 16GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot to expand storage up to 64GB for J5 and 128GB for J7. There will be an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 5MP front-facing camera on both the devices. The Galaxy J7 comes with a bigger battery of 3,000mAh when compared to the Galaxy J5’s battery of 2,600mAh capacity.
Connectivity of the devices includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and Bluetooth 4.1. The devices will run on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop based TouchWiz UI. The Galaxy J5 weighs 149 grams and measures 142 x 73 x 8.5 (mm) while the Galaxy J7 weighs 170 grams and measures 152.4 x 79.2 x 7.9 (mm).
The launch of devices in China is expected to be in the next few weeks, but there are no details about the launch in other countries. Samsung silently launched the Galaxy Grand Neo Plus in India for Rs. 9,990 and can be purchased through online and offline stores.
