Samsung has officially launched its slimmest smartphone, the Galaxy A8 in China. The Samsung Galaxy A7 successor is just 5.9mm thick and is available in Black, White, and Gold colour variants and is up for preorders only in China.
The Galaxy A8 features a 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage and microSD expansion up to 128GB. It runs the most recent version of Samsung’s TouchWiz overlay atop Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
On the camera front, it has a 16MP rear-facing camera and 5MP front-facing camera. It is backed by a 3050mAh battery. It also comes with a fingerprint scanner integrated into the physical home button. It measures just 5.9mm thin and weigh only 151g. The connectivity options include 4G FDD LTE, TDD LTE with Band 40 (2300MHz) support available in India, Bluetooth 4.1, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS, Glonass, Beidou, NFC, and USB 2.0.
