LG has created a lot of buzz about the launch of its next flagship device later this year. Earlier this month the company also sent the media invites for an event scheduled on October 1st in New York. Today, LG has officially launched the first smartphone in its latest V series called LG V10. The device will be available this month first in its home country Korea and later followed by the U.S, China, Latin America, Middle East, and few of the Asian countries.

The main highlight of the LG V10 is secondary “auxiliary ticker display” that is placed above the main screen and V10 branding at the back panel of the device. The samsung Continuum launched on Verizon is the first and the only device to feature a secondary “ticker display” way back in 2010. Apart from it no other device was developed with “auxiliary ticker display.” LG V10 has become the next device to feature a secondary ticker display.

LG V10 sports a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560×1440) display as well as a small 2.1-inch IPS Quantum auxiliary ticker display with a resolution of 160 x 1040 above the main screen. It comes powered by Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor along with 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage and a microSD slot for expansion. The device sports a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and two 5MP front-facing snappers, one with 120 degrees wide angle, while the other with just 80 degrees. Like other LG devices, the LG V10 also comes with the power button and volume rockers placed on the rear side. The power button comes embedded with a fingerprint sensor.
V10 also features the same camera as the LG G4, but it comes with enhanced camera software capabilities for video shooting. V10 users will have full control over things like ISO, shutter speed, focus, frame rate. The V10 camera has both optical and electronic image stabilization and can also shoot videos in HD, FHD or UHD resolution and also has an option to shoot videos in 21:9 aspect ratio.

The LG V10 has a weird look with two front-facing cameras embedded in the left corner underneath the display itself. The Secondary Ticker Display functions similarly to the Samsung Continuum and is also set similarly to that device. The secondary “always on” screen will show the notifications when the main screen is off, and it works similarly like the Edge screen seen in the Samsung’s Galaxy S6 and Note Edge devices. LG V10 will be available in colors- Black, White, Beige, and two different Blues
