The flagship Ascend p8 from Huawei isn’t the only device announced at the event in London, today, as the Huawei Ascend P8 Max goes official. It is no where close to be called a phone, not even a phablet, as the screen size of 6.8-inch is suitable more for tablet devices, but Huawei is going to sell this otherwise.
While many specs are similar to what we’ve seen in the Ascend P8, the battery as expected, is higher in capacity, and thus, there is much to offer with video playback. The local video playback is said to be about 15 hours on full charge, and on normal usage, about two hours of usage is possible as claimed by Huawei.
There is an octa-core CPU (HiSilicon Kirin 935) along with 3GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage, expandable to 128GB with a MicroSD card slot. The P8 Max offers the same 13-megapixel camera on the back, while the front has a 5-megapixel selfie shooter as well. The rear camera is supported by a professional-grade imaging processor and a two-tone flash for better low light captures, as well as for long-exposure shots in low light.
The software in P8 Max is Android 5.0 Lollipop with Emotion UI and software enhancements on the camera app as well. The interface has multiple panels that offer multitasking, to take advantage of the large screen.

The P8 Max is a Dual SIM device, with Dual standby and 4G LTE connectivity, along with other standard options.
Just like the Ascend P8, Huawei’s P8 Max will be available in 30 countries, and there will be two versions available – €549 for standard version (32GB internal storage) and €649 for premium version (64GB internal storage). The premium version will be available in Titanium Grey and Premium Gold options, and the standard one in Titanium Grey and Mystique champagne. The device is 6.8mm in thickness and it weighs 228gm.
