LG has announced the most advanced version of its G Pad Tablet series, i.e., LG G Pad II tablet with 10.1-inch screen size and it will be showcased at IFA 2015 in Berlin. The South Korean company will expand its G Pad tablet series with the launch of G Pad II. The tablet will be available in the markets in North America, Europe, and Asia.
Earlier this month LG G Pad II 8.0 was introduced in South Korea. Though the device possessed some attractive features like full-sized USB port and a stylus, it was overshadowed with entry level specifications like Snapdragon 400 Soc processor, 1.5GB RAM, and 32GB internal storage. Chris Yie, vice president and head of marketing communications, LG Mobile Communications Company said, “The latest G Pad II was developed on customers feedback, who asked for a bigger battery, faster performance and larger display all without raising the price.”
The tablet features a 10.1-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution display offering a pixel density of 224ppi. It uses a Snapdragon 800 SoC quad-core processor clocked at 2.26GHz and Adreno 330 GPU coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage that can be expanded using microSD card slot. Though the processor is bit old, it offers plenty of power.
It sports a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. The device comes backed by a 7400mAh battery that lasts for one day on various usage. LG claims that the tablet has the best battery in its class. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based LG’s UX UI. Connectivity includes 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB 2.0.
Additional software features include “reader mode” that decreases the blue light of the screen, Dual Window Mode for multi-tasking and QuickMemo+ to take notes from any screen and can be shared without opening any new app. The G Pad II 10.1 also includes Microsoft Office apps and 100GB of free storage on Microsoft’s OneDrive system. These additional features are added to enhance the user experience.
The tablet will be available in two variants one with 4G-LTE & Wi-Fi and the other with only Wi-Fi. It will be available in two colors Brilliant Bronze and some kind of purple. The pricing and availability of the tablet are not yet announced. The device will be showcased at IFA 2015 in Berlin where we will hopefully get the information on the prices and release dates.
